Quantum Break is Microsoft's biggest selling new IP, that's easy to believe. How many other big new IP could claim that title on XBO?
Ori and the Blind Forest?
Ryse?
It says more about MS's exclusive release schedule .
They matter.
They define the unique qualities of a console. You know that if you want to play Halo you do it on an Xbox, Mario on a Nintendo and Gran Turismo only on PlayStation. Third-party games come to most consoles, it's the exclusives that push people into making a choice of which console to buy.
@Eonjay "Personally, I can't wait to read Microsoft's PR this month."
"NINE MILLION Time Blast performed!"
Kaz Hirai gave him one mission: Convince Don Mattrick & Phil Spencer that always on DRM and Kinect bundled with Xbox 720 is a great idea!
Sabotage accomplished!
'Amazing score from Polygon.' It is, not because they are tough reviewers but because they are bias and received substantial revenue every year from Microsoft.
Funny review because Polygon reviewer Philip Kollar knows the game is good but it's like he is pulling teeth because he doesn't want to admit it! Read this quote and observe the words written to demean:
"I'd stop short of saying that the new Ratchet & Clank is exactly what ...
Article headline is not quite honest. In the original Gamespot article, Greg Zeschuk is not talking specifically about PS4K, he is talking about any .5 console and gives an example using the Xbox DVD.
The fact that he is talking openly about it means he has not signed an NDA therefore Bioware haven't seen a .5 console! It doesn't mean they don't exist but this is interesting because it means one of the biggest RPG studios haven't seen it. Either 0.5 is not hap...
You can't really judge a game on a vertical slice! This is why reviews should only be made with a finished game.
What Uncharted 2 did really well was in-between the action change pace and have sections of downtown such as when you walk through the Nepalese village. That's probably what's happening here. I'm sure Naughty Dog wouldn't remove a key mechanic that has been a part of the first three games.
After all the teasing hype about the Game Informer cover I was expected a big reveal of an unannounced triple-A game.
Don't believe they hype.
Really above and beyond the job description by Alex Nawabi at PlayStation. Maybe Sony can make a few more of these as I'm betting there are quite a few more gamers worldwide who would benefit.
PS4.5 would be bad, but it's not going to happen.
What need is there to make a 4K compatible console when much less than 1% of console owners have a 4K tv?
Years before the PS4 was released Sony were previewing prototype hardware to developers -this is probably what's happening here.
It sounds like Xbox One.Five will ditch the XB-one name.
It makes sense because it separates it from the history of the last console. But will it help or hinder them in kicking of a new generation early?..
@Septic. There is no evidence of migration! This 'reporter' James Wright is breaking the rules of journalism and spinning an opinion and claiming it to be a fact. Basically he has read the two articles from the past week that discuss the quality of PSN Plus and he has likely read N4G & GAF comments - but this is not evidence of a switch.
It's people like him that damage the credibility of games journalism because if he had done this with any other discipline...
This game is being hyped as the Xbox One equivalent (not literally) of PS4's Uncharted 4, ie. a game that inspires people to buy a console to play it on. But IF the CEX review is to be believed it's actually the XBO equivalent of The Order 1886.
More reviews will present a more rounded picture.
@G20WLY I don't know the story behind the CEX review but if a media outlet obtains a copy of a game independently from the publisher and they review it they are not breaking an embargo because they never signed an NDA.
CEX is a chain of stores in the UK that sell second hand games, but I know they also acquire (not sell) brand new games before launch. I have brought a couple of brand new games from them on launch day.
@AngelicIceDiamond "What would you guys consider say a 4/5 be then"
Converting a score out of five to a score out of ten is not subjective, not down to interpretation but has the same fixed answer every time. It is basic percentage maths.
I get that it's not everybody's strong point but in this case all you need to do is double the score given to convert it to the equivalent mark out of 10.
1 out of 5 is equal to 2 out of 10...
I thought Microsoft has reneged on their promise when they never met their 2014 deadline, but this great news. It should be a way to attract new developers to the XBO platform.
Quantum Break is the flagship Xbox One game and Uncharted 4 is the flagship PlayStation 4 game, each an example of the technical best of their respective consoles. It's like Batman Vs Superman! But which will gamers celebrate most?
There are some imminent big game releases on both major platforms. Quantum Break representing the best of Xbox One and Uncharted 4 representing the best of PlayStation 4. Whichever you have it's a great time to be a gamer!
I see a worrying trend. Clickbait websites racing each other to be the most offended. :(
Haven't you heard? May is the new November!
